Entry to the USA is becoming more expensive<\/h2>\n

Anyone who wants to enter the U.S. visa-free with an ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorization) permit will have to pay a higher fee as of May 26, 2022.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

U.S. Customs and Border Protection, or CBP, has raised the ESTA application fee from $14 to $21. Existing ESTA applications that were still charged the old fee remain valid.<\/p>\n

Entry with ESTA<\/h3>\n

In principle, a visa is required for entry into the USA. The only exception is the Visa Waiver Program (VWP), in which certain countries participate. By applying for an ESTA, travelers from these states can enter the U.S. visa-free for up to 90 days. However, visa-free entry is subject to conditions: For example, persons using the VWP may only be in the U.S. for tourism or limited business activities.<\/p>\n
