Change in SMIC<\/h2>\n

The minimum wage (SMIC) is the hourly wage below which it is forbidden to pay an employee in France.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

This applies regardless of the form of payment (time, incentive, piecework, commission or tip). The SMIC ensures workers a guarantee of their purchasing power and a share in the economic development of the country.<\/p>\n

The amount of the gross hourly SMIC was already raised to \u20ac11.07 on 1 August 2022. This corresponded to \u20ac1,678.95 per month based on the statutory working time of 35 hours per week.<\/p>\n

On 01 January 2023, the SMIC will be changed again. This time it will increase by1.8% to \u20ac11.27, which will then correspond to a new monthly salary of \u20ac1,709.28 gross (based on the statutory French working hours).<\/p>\n
