When employees go on business trips to Belgium, they can expect further hurdles when registering for entry. In addition to the A1 certificate, which must be carried as a matter of course, and the registration in the Limosa portal, a pre-registration, the so-called Passenger Locator Form, has been required since August 2020.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

In order to obtain the aforementioned entry registration, companies must from now on additionally provide a professional travel certificate number when pre-registering in the passenger locator form. This is generated by a declaration of the sending company. The so-called Business Travel Abroad form<\/a> (BTA form) must be completed by the employer and confirms the official justification that the trip is a business trip. Without this declaration, travel will not be recognised as business.<\/p>\n

The BTA number must then be entered in the registration due to Corona (Passenger Locator Form<\/a>) under the item \u201cArriving in Belgium\u201d when stating \u201cYou are travelling for professional purposes?\u201d. As this is a mandatory entry, the journey cannot be pre-registered as a business trip unless the company officially confirms the journey as business trip by submitting the BTA form.<\/p>\n
