Companies that use and exploit artistic or journalistic services must pay the artists’ social security contribution under certain conditions. This levy is to remain stable in 2022.<\/p>\n

Since 1 January 2018, the artists’ social security contribution has been 4.2 %. Most recently, it was planned to increase the levy rate to 4.4 %. However, due to additional federal funding, the rate of the artists’ social security contribution remained stable in 2021. In 2022, additional federal funds will contribute to keeping the levy rate at 4.2 %.<\/p>\n
This will be made possible by the use of additional federal funds amounting to almost 84.6 million euros. This will counteract a burden on the companies liable to pay the levy. At the same time, the funding will ensure that artists and publicists continue to receive the important social protection they need under the artists’ social insurance scheme.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
