Provisional regulations for the recruitment and entry of foreign employees of Israeli companies – valid until September 6, 2024
For the time being, the recruitment of semi-professional (non-skilled), skilled or unskilled foreign workers from certain countries can take place with prior approval. Entry into Israel must take place by September 6th of this year. This regulation is a temporary measure that will remain in force until bilateral agreements for commercial workers have been concluded.
Israeli companies can hire employees from the following ten countries: Azerbaijan, Georgia, Uzbekistan, India, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Latvia, Moldova and Romania.
Depending on the profession, it may be necessary for each foreign employee to provide a bank guarantee. In addition, the immigration authority PIBA prohibits the use of broker or agency fees.
It is important to note that there are additional terms and conditions associated with this update. Companies are advised to carefully review all regulations and ensure compliance to avoid potential problems.
An additional quota of 970 workers has been approved for the industrial sector. Industrial enterprises that do not have a valid permit issued after January 1, 2024 can still submit applications for relevant work permits under this quota until July 14, 2024.
