Bilateral social security agreement Austria-Japan

The Foreign Minister of Japan and the Ambassador of Austria signed a social security agreement between the two countries in Japan on January 19, 2024.

The agreement allows employees who are posted to the other country for a temporary period of less than five years to remain insured in the pension system of the sending country.
The agreement will enter into force after it has been ratified in both countries.

Austria also has bilateral social security agreements in various branches with Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Chile, India, Israel, Canada, South Korea, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, the Philippines, Serbia, Tunisia, Turkey, the USA and Uruguay Social security closed.
