Minimum wage increased to € 10,45 by 1 July 2022

On 01.07.2022, the statutory minimum wage was raised from € 9,82 to € 10,45 gross/hour. Minimal wage jobs up to 450 euros per month are also covered by the Minimum Wage Act (MiLoG). They are also entitled to the statutory minimum wage.

Regulations for mini-jobbers and prospect of further changes

“Mini-jobbers” may work a maximum of 43 hours per month at the adjusted minimum wage of € 10,45 euros (€ 450 : € 10,45 / hour). Another change is already in the starting blocks as of 01.10.2022. From that date, the minimum wage will be raised to twelve euros per hour. In future, the marginal earnings threshold will be based on a weekly working time of ten hours at minimum wage conditions. In the course of adjusting the minimum wage to twelve euros, the remuneration limit will be raised from the current € 450 euros to € 520.
