New filling aid for SI applications
From October 4th, employers will have access to the new SV reporting portal in addition to reporting via the existing payroll system, replacing its predecessor, the sv.net filling aid. The SV reporting portal can now be accessed as a web application via the browser and offers the option of saving employee master data in the portal.
The registration process for the new SV reporting portal via the website can take a few days and may be extended by further days, especially if an ELSTER organization certificate is not yet available. You can still use sv.net without restrictions until December 31, 2023.
An early switch to the new SV reporting portal offers advantages. Employers who register by March 31, 2024 can use it free of charge in 2023 and 2024. After that, depending on the version, between €36.00 and €99.00 will be charged every 3 years.
A1 certificates in the new reporting portal
A1 applications can also be submitted via the SV reporting portal. The A1 certificate can be used to avoid paying contributions in several EU member states, Iceland, Norway, Lichtenstein, Switzerland and the United Kingdom at the same time or switching between social security systems.
A1 certificates can still be applied for via sv.net until the end of February 2024. From March 1, 2024, all new A1 certificates will only be available via the new SV reporting portal. It is therefore recommended to switch to the new SV reporting portal by March 1, 2024 at the latest.
From the beginning of 2024, companies based abroad that do not have a German representative or employees will have the opportunity to register in the SV reporting portal with the BUND_ID in the SV reporting portal in order to submit A1 applications.
